Why ECS?

3D printing allows for rapid product development as there are no lead times for injection molds, 3rd party processing, or shipping as the item is created from spools of plastic directly in the office. This reduces the cost of one off, personalized, and small scale production runs, in addition to being able to immediately implement design revisions and not have hundreds or even thousands of an out of date product.

Some are worried about the strength of 3D printed items but there is research and testing being completed showing that items designed for 3D printing are the same strength or greater than an equivalent sized injection molded item based on material used for a majority of use cases. Each process does have their advantages and disadvantages. Many are familiar with mini-figurines used in gaming or decorative items, along with various toys, that are 3D printed. Some of these are using a different liquid resin based 3D print method that increases resolution and detail but may not have the strength and UV resistance of the FDM (melted plastic) printing done by ECS with proper materials. Except in the most extreme of heat, our products will not melt due to heat as commonly found with the budget printed products commonly found at flea markets, we just ask that you don't leave them in your closed car in the middle of a southern Summers.

The nitty-gritty details of our process is that our products are printed using PETG plastic sourced entirely from the United States for a high quality, consistent, and color accurate product every time. PETG has a deformation temperature of approximately 150 degrees Fahrenheit and is UV resistant as compared to the budget and easier printing PLA plastic most commonly used by hobbyist 3D printers. PLA has a deformation temperature of only 120 degrees Fahrenheit and is susceptible to UV light making it a poor choice for our products. By using quality plastic in additional to structural print settings with thicker internal structure, we stand by our products and trust their strength when in use for their intended purpose. We can't guarantee it will withstand it becoming a horse chew toy, but we will do what we can to fix it!
