Is This Kit Right For You?
If your Pivo™ Pod was dropped or knocked over and the top ring with the device mount separated from the motorized base, and the spring and/or notched inner cap were lost, OR the three locking teeth on the center black ring are broken, this IS for you! If you still have all the pieces, feel free to follow our instructions too to get your Pivo™ back into shape.
If you reassembled your Pivo™ Pod without the spring and inner cap, you will hear the motor spin, but the top ring will not move, or if the top ring can't lock onto the three hooks, this kit is for you!
Tools Needed
- Pivo™ Pod
- Inner Spring
- Inner Cap
- Inner Locking Ring
- Small screwdriver (provided) or small pick tool
- Eyes that can see small details
Preparation
- Organize a clean and well lit work area. A mounted magnifying glass or reading glasses (even if you don't need them!) can assist with reassembly.
- Remove the device mount from your Pivo™ by spinning counter-clockwise while holding the top ring.
- Use the included screwdriver to gently pry the rubber disk loose and gently remove fully. There may be dots or lines of adhesive holding the rubber cap that light heat from a heat gun or blow dryer can assist in loosening.

Notes Before Proceeding
- The notched inner cap in the photos are purple for clarity and demonstration purposes. The actual product will be black.
- Please take a good look at the top ring that has the three slots with catch tabs (and installation gap) around the tripod bolt.

- The three tabs on the motorized base must be pulled up gently from the base to fully insert into the top ring and be able to rotate into position.
- Verify there is no other critical damage to your Pivo™ that may have occurred.
Locking Ring Replacement
Skip to Reassembly below if not replacing the locking ring!
- Remove the 3 screws holding the black inner top from the base.

- Flip the top ring with motor over and remove the two screws holding the motor. Careful as the battery can hold a charge for significant amounts of time!

- From the top, push out the black locking ring, it may be snug.

- Pull the shipping protector off from the replacement locking ring by gently holding the locking ring and pulling on the top pin. Discard the shipping protector.
- Gently press in the replacement locking ring. Be careful as the three hooks are fragile so it is best to make sure that all pieces are parallel and do not tip as this will break the hooks again.

- Reassemble the motor and cap in reverse order. They will only fit together in one orientation. Please see the note below about reassembly!
- The center of the motor will sit in the center of the opening.
- The top cap will only align with the screw holes in one orientation, and the motor will clear the battery in that orientation.
Updated Reassembly!
Update! Some Pivos include a screw access hole through the top black cap that can ease in installation of the locking ring!
- Follow the previous section instructions of replacing the locking ring replacement to remove the inner top black cap. (Remove the 3 screws from the top black inner cap as shown in the locking ring replacement and the two screws from the motor.)
- The locking ring, inner black cap, and outer top ring can be assembled separate from the rest of the Pivo. Still be careful as the tabs are fragile!
- Take the top ring and observe the position of the 3 cut outs that match up with the 3 tabs on the motorized base. In these cutouts, there will be a "lip" for half of the opening and a gap for the other half of the opening.
- Gently push the black ring with 3 tabs located on the motorized base until the fully seated. Now hold the locking ring in place while continuing with the next steps.
- Align the top ring onto the top of the replacement inner cap so that the notches of the top ring and the inner cap align. (Photo demonstrates the alignment of the only the top ring)

- The 3 tabs on the motorized base will be inserted into the top ring cutouts where the gap is, then the tabs rotated over onto the "lip" to hold the two pieces together. Please have patience as this may take several attempts.
* The screwdriver, pick tool, or tweezers may help by re-lifting the black tabs back to their lifted position while holding the top ring down onto the motorized base.
- Use the screw driver to push the 3 notches counter-clockwise into the locking position. You may have to work each tab gently, and one at a time, until they are fully seated as bending the tabs excessively can cause them to snap.

* Fully seated

Congrats! The hard part is done.
- Once the top has been assembled, place the notched cap and spring into place, and reattach the motor with the two screws. The notches on the top of the cap should align with the notches in the top ring.
- Rotate the top ring and cap to align the screw access hole with the ring's screw hole. Now place the assembled top cap and motor into the base aligning the screw hole in the ring and cap with the base's and insert the 3 longer screws.

Original Reassembly
(Continue Below to Final Steps)
- Insert the spring into the center of the motorized base so that it sits over the top of the black cap.

- Look at the bottom of the replacement inner cap and align the 4 cut outs with the four bumps on the black center cap the spring is resting on.
- Insert the new notched cap over the spring.

- Verify it is aligned correctly by pressing the new cap down. The top of the new cap should sit approximately flush with the metal bearing outside the black ring with tabs. Lift and rotate the cap until the cutout and bumps are aligned. Slowly release the cap when it is aligned.

- Take the top ring and observe the position of the 3 cut outs that match up with the 3 tabs on the motorized base. In these cutouts, there will be a "lip" for half of the opening and a gap for the other half of the opening.
- Gently lift the black ring with 3 tabs located on the motorized base until it is approximately 1-2mm above the metal bearing surround it.
- Align the top ring onto the top of the replacement inner cap so that the notches of the top ring and the inner cap align. (Photo demonstrates the alignment of only the top ring)

* Fully seated
- Congrats! The hard part is done.
Final Steps
- Gently rotate the top ring and it should softly click just like your Pivo™ did previously. If not, please reverse the tabs and verify everything was seated correctly.
- Reattach the rubber disk, the adhesive may still be sticky enough to work again, if not a few dots of super glue will work perfectly.
- Reattach your device mount, this will also assist in holding down the rubber disk.
